# Put doors and windows where your customer wants them

Short answer: **add doors and windows from Add Things, then On Walls, and click the bay you want.** Each bay on a wall normally takes one opening. If the bay already has a door or window, the new one replaces it. Check with support if you need a window above a roller door, or a PA door beside one in the same bay.

**Add a door or window**

1. Click **Add Things**, then **On Walls**
2. Choose the door or window
3. Click the bay on the wall where it goes
4. Set its size and position on the toolbar, then click **Save Shed**

### Add a door or window

| | Step |
| --- | --- |
| 1 | In the Shed Designer, click **Add Things**, then **On Walls** (1) |
| 2 | Choose **PA Door**, **Roller Door**, **Sectional Door**, **Glass Door**, **Sliding Panel**, **Window** or **Bay Opening** (2) |
| 3 | Click the bay on the wall where it goes |
| 4 | The toolbar changes to show the opening's settings, such as **Width**, **Bay Offset** and, for a window, **Sill**. Set them, then click **Cancel Selection** |
| 5 | Click **Save Shed** |

### Check what's already in the bay

Each bay on a wall normally takes one opening. Adding a door or window to a bay that already has one replaces it.

Here, each bay on the side wall has a roller door (1).

A PA door placed in bay 2 replaces that bay's roller door (1). A window placed in the bay does the same.

![The same side wall after a PA door was placed in bay 2: the roller door in that bay is gone and the PA door marked 1 is in its place](https://help.shedmate.com.au/hubfs/Shedmate%20Guides/DW-01__03-after-pa-door__marked.png)

**Check the bay before you add a second opening.** If a door disappears, click **Undo** straight away. The price changes with it, so read the price before the quote goes.

### When your customer wants two openings in one bay

If adding a second opening replaces the first, you can't show both together on that wall. For example, your customer might want a window above a roller door, or a PA door beside one. Here is what you can do:

- Put the second opening in another bay, if your customer is happy with that.
- Choose a door size that fits the bay, or move the door to a wider bay.
- If your customer needs both in one bay, send us the job number and a sketch, and we will work through the options with you.

We've asked our product team to support more than one opening in a bay. Some companies already have a special setup for windows. If support has set this up for your company, follow the instructions we gave you. Otherwise, ask us before promising two openings in the same bay.

**Don't reshape the shed to make an opening fit.** Widening a bay or deleting a column to make room changes what the engineering is sized on, so the plans would show a building the engineering has not checked.

If the designer changes a roller door size you typed, it has moved it to a size in your company's door range. Read the door size on the quote before it goes, and tell your company admin if the range looks wrong.

Stuck? Email support@shedmate.com.au with the job number.
